GERAKAS
Gerakas or Yerakas is one of the best beaches in Zakynthos. It is located in the Vasilikos area. The main advantage of the beach is the rocky cape that protects the bay from the winds.

It is at Yerakas that the Caretta Caretta sea turtles build their nests and lay their eggs, a fact which has made it necessary to impose strict regulations for tourist activities (Gerakas is another beach protected by the national marine park). You won’t find any beach sports here, only a few sunbeds and umbrellas.
